Driving Test in UP | UP DL Online
The driving license test in UP is conducted by the RTO and follows the guidelines in the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988. If you want to take the test, you can do it with your own vehicle or choose a vehicle provided by a motor driving school.

Test for Two-wheeler & Three-wheeler:

There are two parts to the driving test. The first part is to test your skills and abilities to navigate in a given space. You will be asked to right your vehicle in an 8-shaped pattern. This will show them how well you can go through tough spots and curves, using proper techniques. The second part is to go on a public road with the RTO officer so they can test your ability to ride safely and responsibly among other vehicles on the road. Your knowledge of road rules is also tested here.

If you pass these tests, you will be given a license to drive.

Test for Four-wheeler:

This test is also two-tiered. The first step is to pass a test track where the candidate will be tested for their ability to drive smoothly. After that, their performance will be evaluated on a public road, where your eye for road rules, safety and driving among other vehicles are all tested.

If a candidate does not pass the performance test for any of the vehicles, they can try again for a driving licence in UP after waiting seven days. They will, however, have to pay a small fee.
